Meet Us

Tip Top Design was started in 2007 by Hüseyin Keser, a former Grand Bazaar and U.S. Oriental carpet salesman. He lives in New York with his family and is a U.S. citizen since 1998. His son, Alhan, is in charge of communications.

Hüseyin also has two former colleagues who work with him to meet customer demand, Bekir Akyüz and Yasar Keser. Both have a long history in the carpet business in Turkey and the United States.

Huseyin Keser, owner of Tip Top Design

Hüseyin Keser, a Turkish-American who grew up in France, went to Kemer, Turkey, in 1984 to pursue a career in the tourism industry. He began at Club Med as a maintenance manager, then moved toward Oriental carpets, as a salesman. His knowledge of general culture allowed him easy understanding of the needs of an international array of customers and his languages, French, English, and German were vital assets.

His next step was the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey, where he specialized in other aspects of the Oriental carpet world: tribal rugs, kilims, Turkish silk, and rugs from all over the world. He worked at the Anatolian Carpet Shop. The Grand Bazaar was a great learning tool as it is an all-year destination of anyone in search of a quality handmade carpet of any kind as well as being a treasure trove for the world’s most admired hand-knotted works. During the Cold War, most Turkic and Persian rugs found their way to the Bazaar as it was the final stop on the Silk Road.
Hüseyin came to the US in 1995 to continue as an Oriental carpet expert and worked at the Turquoise Rug Gallery in Indianapolis, IN, as sales manager and showroom decorator. He stayed in the US until 2001, when he returned to France to send his son, Alhan, to school.

Hüseyin went on to Istanbul with his wife to work in the Grand Bazaar. After noticing that many clients needed an at-home service in the United States, he decided to come back to establish Tip Top Design, a one-of-a-kind service, in 2007. Thanks to his contacts and knowledge of the Grand Bazaar, Hüseyin is in partnership with many well-established stores of the Bazaar.
