Obama - he is a nomad, a constant traveler and a one-of-a-kind candidate. He would most likely go for an authentic Caucasian rug - not one made under the Russians - and it may look like this:

And Hillary would have to be a solid Bergama - more specifically a Yağcibedir - where the hard-working middle class in her would come out without too much flashiness and with the elaborate-but-yet-conservative design.

Wow, for Obama I think you hit the nail on the head. Couldn’t have found a better match anywhere.
Although I must say, for Hillary, Dr. Sobhe’s twin Mashad Rugs would be a more appropriate match (no offense)… Elegant and bold in her own right, yet aggressively poised with prickly-leaf edges.

very true Dave. How about McCain? A red, white and blue Tabriz?

Thats a tough one.
Red, White and Blue would be quite appropo. Call it crazy, I guess this one can follow the trasitive property here of if a=b and b=c then a must be = to c
When I think of McCain, I think of the Republican Elephant, when I think of the Republican Elephant, I think of rugs which have elephant like features…
Take a look at both the size of this rug, and also the trunk like design elements of the lanterns stemming from the main medallion of this rug (particularly the photo with the hand in it):
